Economic Development
South Elgin has maintained a very disciplined approach in it's management of the tremendous amount of development that has been attracted to it's Village. Consequently, the Village's future is very bright. Developers are enticed by South Elgin's strong demographic profile and proximity to Kane County's major traffic corridors, including the Stearns Road Bridge.
The Village Center Redevelopment Plan and the implementation of the LaFox Corridor TIF district are certain to keep businesses and developers interested in the Village of South Elgin for the foreseeable future.
The South Elgin Economic Development Council (SEED) is working collaboratively with the Village of South Elgin to attain the best economic development plan which pursues solutions related to the long-term success of the business community and the Village - decisions made today will determine the development path for the next 50 years.
Change is not always easy, but with proper planning, the changes in South Elgin will benefit all parties and make South Elgin the preferred place in the Fox River Valley to live, play and work.
